This is the Yarn Pig:
It eats yarn. Or it seemed like it when I was knitting it. This baby (before felting=BF) was 2 feet long. It shrunk to half that size after it was felted. I used the felted "No rules bag" pattern, with the modification of a ruffle on the top. It is knitted in the largest size of the pattern. It's driving me nuts that there are no pockets anywhere in the thing. (See previous post today) I am going to knit a pocket that is 1/2 the size of the front, or 44 stitches BF. I am also adding a teeny ruffle to the top of the pocket. I want a pocket inside for my cell phone also, so that I don't have to hunt it down when it's ringing. I will cast on about 33 stitches for that one. I want the pockets to be approximately square. I hope they turn out sort of square, because you never know how something will turn out after it's felted. The whole thing is made out of Patons Soy Wool Stripes in Natural Pink. I was going to line it with material to add pockets inside, but that didn't work out. I guess this will work okay. Oink oink, says the Yarn Pig. More yarn, please.

Almost done!
My Tidal Wave socks are almost done. I am up to knitting the instep and then the toes. I'll post a picture when they're all done. Next up in the ol' project bag is to make pockets for my felted purse. I can't stand rifling through my purse to find my cell phone or my keys one moment longer. Perhaps I was too spoiled by the lovely organization-friendliness of my Vera Bradley purses.
Our knitting group meets tomorrow evening at the Koeller Avenue Starbucks here in Oshkosh. We began as a much larger group, started by Nick, one of our education students here at UW Oshkosh. We had a lot of university students for a while. The students all got busy with school and their lives. What's left is a small group of 3 of us who still meet from around 6:30 or 7PM to 9PM. We don't care if it's summer and really hot outside--we still knit anyhow. We occasionally get curious people coming up to us as we're knitting who ask us about our knitting. The Experimental Aircraft Association convention was here last week. As the two of us who were at the group were knitting, a woman and her husband who were attending the airshow came up to us and the woman said she should have brought her knitting. Hah--a good knitter should never be without her knitting. Her husband was really interested in the ball of yarn I had for my Print o' the Wave stole which I will be starting soon. It is really soft. It is Taiyangshan Lacey Lamb in black. I read Eunny Jang's errata on her blog about the stole. It seems I will need one more ball of yarn to complete my stole. Oh, the pain. I'll have to go to the yarn store. Iris Fine Yarns in Appleton, Wisconsin, I'll be visiting you soon. Love ya Phyllis and Cassie!

Starring Jefferson and Churchill!
Here are my cats.
This is Jefferson aka Jeffy. Jeffy is a very sweet kitty. He is 13 years old. He really likes to go outside. However, he is a big chicken who regularly gets beaten up by Churchill. He also likes knitting and wants mama to knit him a blankie. Not happening any time soon.
This is Churchill aka Billy. Jeffy thinks his name should be Bully, which he is a lot of times. He is 11 years old. Billy has diabetes--he was diagnosed two years ago. He gets insulin shots twice a day. He doesn't like knitting at all--in fact, he hates the sticks and string because they compete with mama's attention for him. Billy wants mama's undivided attention at all times. He also hates the computer thing for the same reason.
